The Cologne Cathedral was amazing in how how towering it was! I couldn't help but compare it to another place I admire, the Saint Louis Cathedral. The Saint Louis is equal in its greatness because of its beauty, though it's not as tall or well known at all as the Cologne Cathedral.
We got there early and passed through, and by the time we came back, there were people everywhere. Apparently around 20,000 tourists visit every single day. There are tons of shops close to the church.
Public transit is great in this country.
The chocolate museum was real fun. I didn't know that chocolate fresh off the factory tastes better, but it does in a sort of nutty way. It's run by Lindt, and we definitely bought a lot of sweets in the gift shop. The weather has been hot, so we're hoping nothing melts.
Cologne is famous for cologne, named in honor of the city by Johann Maria Farina. The tour/performance given at the original business was a highlight of our time in the city. The signature fragrance that aristocrats sought out back in the day has a delicate citrus aroma that I really like.
